The Founder and Chief Designer who paved the way for fashion forward women throughout the Americas.

A native of Colombia and now a passionate New Yorker, Marcela began hand-crafting clothing for family and friends when she was just 14. She soon realized that her hobby had become her life passion. In 2014, her dream became a reality as she founded MOI and vowed to power up today's woman from dusk through dawn.

Launching both titillating Night and Active Day lines, this devoted mother of two sons and wife of over 13 years, was driven to design for Women’s multifaceted lives. Much like herself, women around the world are juggling the responsibilities of motherhood, professionalism and leisure on a daily basis. Marcella's use of flexible fabric, soothing hues and empowering style invites our women to embrace the comfort and sensuality of the MOI vision.

At the time, Marcela sensed that women’s active wear wasn’t being designed from a woman’s perspective. The material felt unwelcoming while the designs suffered from shapelessness.

Masculine trends were dominating the field and women’s voices were being lost in the styling. She knew that this was her time to step in and answer her true calling. She created the MOI active wear and nighttime line with women’s needs in mind. Keeping true to herself, MOI represents Marcela’s passion for design and her crusade to empower women to feel comfortable in any social setting.

Our Mission

Here at MOI, we design and manufacture every collection with a sense of purpose and responsibility. Our “Fashion From the Heart” initiative focuses on helping children who are stricken with heart disease. Our mission is to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital heart defects. To make this happen, we will be donating 2% of every item sold to the Children’s Heart Foundation. Our goal is to raise $200,000 dollars each year and 1 Million dollars by the year 2025. In addition, we will also be donating MOI athletic gear to the annual American Heart Association marathon in New York City.

Helping children is something near and dear to my heart. My beautiful son Nikolas started fighting for his life at only 5 months old. He was diagnosed with Pulmonary Stenosis, a debilitating disease characterized as the narrowing of the pulmonary artery. From the moment Nikolas entered this world, we knew he was a fighter. Through a series of life saving surgeries, his condition eventually bettered. Going through this with my newborn was the hardest situation our family ever had to endure. Ten years later, Nikolas is a cheerful young man full of life and zest. Thanks to hard work, modern medicine and support, we were able to prevail.
